A man found with head injuries in Streatham has been identified thanks to a member of the public.
The 50-year-old man, who is Polish and does not speak English, was
discovered by ambulance crew at 5am on Saturday near the junction with
Streatham High Road and Greyhound Lane.
He is currently in a south London hospital in a serious but stable condition.
After police appeals to discover the man's identity a member of the
public found some of the injured man's property and handed it to
officers.
Police were then able to trace the man's next of kin.
The injured man is believed to live in Streatham but police are not revealing his identity.

It is not clear how he sustained his injuries although it is thought he could have been injured in a road accident.
